European Conference on Cognitive Ergonomics 2009
DESIGNING BEYOND THE PRODUCT –
UNDERSTANDING ACTIVITY AND USER EXPERIENCE IN UBIQUITOUS
ENVIRONMENTS
ECCE 2009 will be held in 30 September -
2 October 2009 in
Helsinki metropolitan area, Finland. The conference site Dipoli Conference Center is
located in the campus of Aalto University in Otaniemi. The event is
organised by the European Association of Cognitive Ergonomics and
hosted by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The conference
will deal with the challenges of designing intelligent human-system
interaction in work and everyday environments. ECCE 2009 focuses on
the topic "Designing beyond the product – Understanding activity and
user experience in ubiquitous environments". The conference aims to
provide an opportunity for researchers, practitioners, and designers
to exchange new ideas and practical experience e.g. on the following
topical areas:
- Challenges in work and everyday activities: Does the
invisible computer change our ways of acting?
- Means for coping: How to support sense making in ubiquitous
environments?
- Research and design approaches: What is happening to
cognitive systems engineering?
IMPORTANT DATES
- 20th January 2009: First call for papers
- 23rd February 2009: Second call for papers
- 30th March 2009: Submission of abstracts for short and long
papers and posters. Notification of acceptance on week 19
- 16th April 2009: Submission of doctoral consortium papers. Notification of acceptance on 25th May
- May 2009: Conference programme released on the web pages
- 31st July 2009: Submission of camera-ready papers
- 26th August 2009: Early registration ends
- 14th September 2009: Late registration ends
